Nessebar is located on a small peninsula on the Black Sea coast, and is linked to the land by a long and narrow isthmus. The village has existed for more than 9,000 years. It started as a fortified Thracian settlement, although it has been occupied by both the Greeks and Romans.
Nessebar is best known for the old town on the peninsula. Nobody can say for sure whether the isthmus is natural or man-made. There are narrow cobblestone lanes, tiny squares, period houses with stone-built ground levels and wooden upper floors jutting above the streets and external staircases, gift shops, pubs, tavern and lovely flower gardens. A selection of properties from around Nessebar...
